How we calculate this
Estimates use average garment-production data from ADEME and WRAP’s 64.6% resale displacement rate. We match the garment and material to a reference model, or use a labeled garment-category estimate. Totals state when only some pieces are included. These approximate comparisons exclude secondhand shipping, cleaning, returns, use, and end of life. EPA supplies the tree comparison only.
